Our President, Andy Gild, and her sister took on the 110km ride in Cape Town, South Africa for our Annual Melbourne to Namibia 2019 Fundraiser and raised a whopping $2,648, which was doubled by the amazing Intrepid Foundation.
It’s been 40 years since Andy and her family emigrated to Australia from South Africa. We are super lucky to have her in Melbourne championing the Bicycle for Humanity cause.
“I can only say that this was a truly extraordinary experience, cycling around one of the most gorgeous cities in the world (and one which is so close to my heart having spent significant childhood years there) with one sister at my side and my other sister, mother and family along the journey with us every turn of the pedal was simply incredible!
The added benefit of course was combining The Cape Town Cycle Tour Challenge with the Bicycles for Humanity Melbourne to Nambia 2019 Fundraiser. Being supported by friends and family as we all raised funds to help change lives is so very much appreciated.
Huge thanks to the Intrepid Foundation for their fabulous support in matching every dollar donated and to the Bicycle Superstores for donating the prize bicycle.”
